The Borough of Avoca has partnered with Paper Eaters of Wilkes Barre to host a community paper shredding event for Avoca residents. Residents will be asked to show proof of residency by showing their picture ID or drivers license. This is a safe and secure way of getting rid of older, unwanted documents.
The paper shredding truck will be at the Avoca Municipal Garage, located at 1103 Plane Street, between the hours of 9am-3pm on Saturday, September 24th, where Paper Eaters will assist residents with loading their paper into their containers, all of which will be lifted into the shredding truck.
Paper with staples and/or standard paper clips will be accepted to shred. You do not have to worry about taking the staples or paper clips off. Standard file folders and envelopes are also acceptable to be shredded.
Larger binder clips, plastic protective sheet covers or any plastic of any kind is not permitted in the shredding truck. Magazines, newspapers, binders and cardboard are also not permitted.
There is a 3 box limit for each person shredding. We kindly ask that businesses do not bring an over abundance of material to shred.
